Refund & Pass-Guarantee Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Your purchase of Capital Prep (operated by Authority Group LLC) is protected two ways: a money-back window, and the Pass Guarantee. This applies across every exam we offer, in the same simple way. It supplements our Terms of Service.

Money-back window

Not the right fit? Request a full refund within the money-back window shown at checkout, measured from the time of purchase, as long as you haven’t substantially used the materials. Just email us.

The Pass Guarantee (SurePass)

If you prepared with Capital Prep and still don’t pass your exam, we make it right:

  • Every pass (7-Day, 30-Day, and Lifetime): we refund your pass in full — and you keep Lifetime access to your exam’s study materials, free, so you can keep preparing.
  • On the Lifetime plan (SurePass Pro), we also reimburse your official exam retake feeone retake per exam, up to $500, when you paid that fee out of your own pocket.

What qualifies

To keep it simple and fair, three things:

  • You scored 80% or higher on two different full-length mock exams in your account, and sat the official exam within 14 days of clearing that bar.
  • You took the official exam and didn’t pass.
  • You file your claim within 30 days of receiving your official result (for FINRA exams that’s normally the day you test), and no later than 12 months after your purchase.

How the retake reimbursement works (Lifetime only)

  • It is a reimbursement, not a payout: after your claim is approved, book and pay for your retake, then send us the receipt. We reimburse what you actually paid, up to the official fee for your exam and never more than $500 in total.
  • One funded retake per exam, ever — not one per attempt.
  • It covers fees you paid out of your own pocket. If your firm or employer paid your exam fees (common for sponsored exams such as the Series 7), your claim is the full refund of your Capital Prep purchase.
  • For bundles: every exam in the bundle you sat and didn’t pass is covered — refund of that exam’s share plus its retake — with reimbursements capped at $500 per bundle in total.

How to claim

At the test center, request your official score report by email — the testing provider sends it from an official address (for FINRA exams, a finra.org / prometric.com address). Then forward that email to us at support@capitalprep.com from your account’s email address. The forwarded original is what lets us verify the result is genuine — screenshots or edited PDFs on their own can’t be verified and may delay or void a claim. The report must show your name, the exam, the result, and a test date after your purchase. We verify your mock history automatically against your account and process eligible refunds promptly, to your original payment method. For retake reimbursement, send your retake receipt within 90 days of opening your claim— FINRA’s own 30-day retake wait is why that window is separate and generous.

The fine print

The guarantee doesn’t cover exams taken before clearing the bar (80%+ on two different full-length mocks), claims filed after the claim window, unverifiable score reports, or accounts that broke our Terms. One pass-guarantee claim per exam per account. It reimburses the official exam retake fee only (no travel, rescheduling, or other costs). Fraudulent or falsified claims void the guarantee and the account’s access. Nothing here limits rights you may have under applicable law. Questions? We’re at support@capitalprep.com.
